How SOMNI works (high level)

• Your AI, your rules: SOMNI builds your assistant from the information you choose to provide, keeping data on your device.
• Model options: Use local/offline models by default; you can optionally connect to online model providers if you choose.
• Provider fallback: Requests can route to your preferred source with defined fallbacks (including offline models).
• Local conversations & memory: Stored locally (SQLite) with recovery/fallback mechanisms.
• Searchable knowledge base: Vector store with Qdrant as primary and SQLite/Memory fallbacks.

Privacy & security

• No analytics or tracking. Data remains on the device.
• Licensing & protection: Hardware-bound licensing with cryptographic verification; offline validation supported.

System requirements

Windows 10/11 (64-bit). (Additional guidance will be published near beta.)

Distribution & install

• Offline-friendly distribution: direct download, USB/air-gapped transfer, or secure file share—each uses the same single installer.
• User steps: download → double-click → Next → Install → Launch.
